Apiculture is the process of deliberately keeping or culturing bees in wooden boxes or hives for different reasons. In the past the only reason men raid the bee nest is for her honey. But in this modern time men had been able to think deeper about the activities of bees.
The different types of bees include.
1. SOLITARY BEES: Most bees in the world are solitary bees. Mated female live alone in a hole or burrow into well drained soil or soft brick mortar.They have a short life span. Adults solitary bees live for only about six to eight weeks.
Solitary bees do not sting because they do not store honey. They spend most of their life as a larva or pups developing in a burrow.
Solitary bees are used for pollinating flowers. They tend to be specific to a particular flower, as a result they die after the season of the flower because of lack of food.
2. BUMBLE BEES: These bees live together in colonies and store honey and pollen in wax as food to be used in time of food shortage. They have special adaptation for colder weather including their long thick hair and are more commonly found in more colder climate.
Bumble bees are majorly classified into two;
a. Bombus bumble bees
b. Psithyrus or cuckoo bumble bees
BOMBUS BUMBLE BEES: These bees have three castes ( social class) a female queen, partially developed female workers and male drones. A typical colony can contain one queen, about three hundred workers and a few drones. There are about two hundred and fifty different species of this bumble bees

PSITHYRUS OR CUCKOO BUMBLE BEES:

The males and the females lives separately except during the period of mating They are a specilizspe lineage which has lost the ability to collect pollen and to rear their brood. Twenty nine species are considered to constitute this group.
HONEY BEES: Honey bees live as a large colony in a large carvity or artificial hive.
They have three castes (social group) which comprises of one female queen about seventy thousand female workers and about three hundred  male drones.
A colony of honey bee makes a large spherical nest. Are the center the queen lays eggs which develop into workers.
The drone eggs are laid later from the workers eggs.
A honey bee colony is held together as a social community by scents called pheromones which help to control individual bee

HOW TO IDENTIFY ORIGINAL HONEY

1. Original honey will sink when dropped in a cup of water
2. Original honey does not wet a paper neither will if fall off the paper.
3. Because original honey doesn't soak, a match stick will lit fire even when it is deep into the honey.
4. Diluted honey is always very cheap.
